Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Group Accountant. In this role, you will take charge of managing the financial consolidation and reporting processes for our organization's group of companies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful analysis across various financial activities.

Job Description:

Corporate Month-End Accounting Management: Lead and manage the corporate month-end accounting process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Monthly Management Reports: Prepare comprehensive monthly management reports to provide insights into the organization's financial performance.

Consolidated Financial Statements: Prepare the Group's consolidated financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Budgets and Forecasts Consolidation: Consolidate corporate and divisional budgets and forecasts to provide a holistic view of the organization's financial position.

Group Budget Preparation: Prepare the Group budget for the management reporting pack, incorporating inputs from various business units.

Board Reporting: Prepare the Board reporting pack, providing clear and concise financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Variance Analysis and Commentary: Conduct monthly variance analysis on financial performance and provide insightful commentary to management.

External Accountant Liaison: Collaborate with external accountants to facilitate audits, reviews, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Internal Quality Reviews: Manage internal reviews within the finance team to maintain quality standards in financial reporting and processes.

Reconciliation: Ensure accurate reconciliation of all accounts to maintain data integrity and reliability.

Corporate Tax Preparation: Prepare and lodge monthly corporate taxes, including FBT, Income tax, and quarterly BAS, in compliance with taxation regulations.

Supervision: Supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and performance

Requirements

Minimum 8-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.

Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.

Ability to take responsibility and be accountable for financial data and reports.

Excellent time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines effectively.

Capacity to work autonomously while also contributing positively to team dynamics.

Proficient problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate solutions clearly.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective dissemination of financial information.

Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.

Professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA are advantageous but not essential.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Australian accounting, demonstrating a thorough understanding of Australian accounting standards and regulations.
