OBJECTIVE

The HR Generalist will work within the Human Resources team to support the execution of various HR functions within the department including leading recruitment efforts, facilitating conflict resolution as it pertains to employee relations as well as ensuring the department maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Additional support will be provided to the HR team to assist with onboarding, payroll and benefit functions as needed. Success in this role will require communication with internal management leaders, external brokers and vendors as well as other members of the HR team in order to provide assistance to all employees across the organization, optimize hiring practices and talent pipelines and assist in the continued development and enhancement of performance management practices and organizational training and development needs.

· Lead and improve the recruitment and hiring process, evaluating the capabilities of current and prospective ATS software, developing improved hiring metrics to measure success and improve efficiency.

· Utilize the current ATS software to manage job postings with accurate and updated JDs and message templates to track and respond to candidates in a timely and professional manner

· Maintain communication with applicants, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, coordinating with managers and communicating final offers in a timely and professional manner

· Coordinate and participate in additional recruitment efforts representing the company at seasonal hiring events and industry career fairs to increase brand exposure

· Complete and maintain the electronic and physical filing of personnel folders for both new hires and existing employees to ensure new hire paperwork and updated company policies are filled out and signed in a timely and accurate manner

· Oversee the company’s International Workers Program including the student selection process, creation of annual training plans and the execution of the student arrival process

· Communicate with students as the main point of contact to facilitate and provide resource recommendations to students as well as recommending program improvements to the HR and Operations teams as needed

· Support the Head of HR in completing internal job audits, HR investigations and the development of department metrics to measure the success of the performance management system and employee development trainings

· Support the development and implementation of program curriculums for leadership skills, management and compliance trainings as well as the improvement of financial and business acumen for organizational and store leaders

· Design, participate and review internal and external research, surveys, evaluations and exit interviews to collect employee data in support of HR team members and make informed recommendations to policy changes and risk assessments

· Provide backup support to the Payroll & Benefits Associate in the administration of the HRIS management process entering in all related employee information in a timely and accurate manner, updating all personnel files as needed

· Support the accurate administration of benefits for eligible employees, new hires and qualifying life events for existing employees as well as the administration of the annual open enrollment period

· Monitor employee enrollment in both COBRA and benefit plans in support of periodic audits, ensuring rosters are accurate and updated within the HRIS system to mitigate status issues and long-term disputes

· Support the HR team in generating ad-hoc reports for payroll optimization and compensation analysis, analyzing and maintaining internal pay scales, accurate job descriptions and updating Organization structures and charts

· Coordinate with store level management to schedule store visits for training sessions and store level checklists

· Support state agencies with the unemployment claim process, providing required paperwork, documentation and verification data, approving or disputing claims as required

· Provide support to the Office Manager in the completion of the Workers Compensation claim process, filling out internal incident report forms and all state agency paperwork as required

· Collaborate with the HR team in the completion of annual reporting for DOL, USCIS, EEOC and OSHA in accordance with state and federal regulations

· Complete all other tasks as assigned by the Head of HR

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or another related field and 3+ years’ experience in the HR field. Previous experience working in a retail, manufacturing or horticultural industry preferred. Work towards or completion of SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. Previous experience working with an HRIS system, ADP, Isolved, or Vision preferred and experience working with an ATS software. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook. Demonstrated ability to complete Excel functions including VLOOKUP and IF statements. Knowledge of state and federal employment related laws and regulations

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

In office Monday-Friday, hours of work vary by schedule and season. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required. Work from home permitted by Manager’s approval.

This role requires travel to various site locations as needed.
