IT Systems Analyst Intern

Reports to: Director of IT (Head of IT)

Employment Status: Part-Time ($19.00 / Hr)

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate for the Information Systems Analyst Intern role should be passionate about technology and working with users to strategically use data and technology to improve Company processes. The Company’s track record of sales growth has led to the need for this additional IT role that will focus on engineering, delivering and supporting IT tools and systems to enable value creation by end users. This position will be integral to the continued growth and development of the IT department at Engineered Profiles and a successful individual will be willing to spend time with users to understand their process and gain understanding of how IT can help improve efficiency and meet end user demands.

This role includes general IT troubleshooting and support for the Company’s operations. As such, working with departments and employees within all levels of the Company is a key to success within this role, to ensure IT tools and systems are adequately meeting the requirements of end users. In addition to understanding how IT is applied in each case, a successful individual will also be able to explain technical concepts in a way the user, who may only have basic IT knowledge, can understand, and apply them. This position will serve as one of the initial points of contact for end user requests and incident resolutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

PL/SQL and Crystal Reports

Convert end user definition of a solution into formal requirements that can be used as specifications to design a report (Crystal) or script (SQL)

Execute SQL related tasks within the scope of SQL Fundamentals I Certification

Develop user reports in Crystal

Apply database system fundamentals to specific tasks to engineer solutions

Business System Support

Assist users in the implementation of new software or software features

Resolve user issues with business systems either directly or by working with technical support from the vendor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, cont.:

Hardware/Infrastructure Support

Ability to fix issues and know when to escalate them as it relates to core services (print server, file server, email systems, etc.)

Resolve user issues through and track information and time through the Company’s ticketing system

Execute new hire process (AD setup, computer purchase, computer image, software setup, phone setup, basic instructions, etc.)

Ability to drill down from user issues to underlying infrastructure root cause

Resolve issues related to installing specialty software and computer troubleshooting

Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience:

Required

Progress toward a four-year Bachelor’s degree

Attention to detail and ability to account for time

Ability to effectively triage user issues and focus on priorities

Knowledge of Microsoft applications as well as the ability to quickly adapt to new technology

Demonstrated creative problem-solving with the ability to implement new ideas and processes

Experience with SQL

Experience with Crystal Reports or similar reporting tool

Preferred

Experience with virtual environment administration

Experience with cloud and hybrid cloud systems

Advanced SQL and Crystal Reports skills

Experience with administering an active directory environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills with individuals of varied backgrounds
