Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using
carpenter’s hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes. Studies blueprints,
sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or
fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. Selects specified type of lumber or
other materials. Prepares layout, using rule, framing square, and calipers. Marks cutting and assembly
lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. Shapes materials to prescribed
measurements, using saws,, chisels, and planes. Assembles cut and shaped materials ad fastens them
together with nails, dowel pins, or glue. Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter’s
level. Erects framework for structure and lays sub-flooring. Builds stairs and lays out and installs
partitions.
Journeyman – A skilled craft worker, having verifiable minimum experience and/or holds an accepted
certification, license and/or degree in a specific craft. Requires minimum supervision.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
As directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with
the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum.
TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position may be located in a wide variety of environments, from conventional indoor office workspace to
project worksites with harsh, working and living conditions.
To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will
possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as
necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Position requires the basic skills and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.

Basic Job Requirements
High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and
two (2) years to four (4) years related experience Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical
ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Journey level certification or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Military and/or Contingency Operations experience preferred.
