Our client, located south of Tampa, Florida, is looking for an Accountant Manager to add to their team. This is a direct-hire, hybrid opportunity.

Accounting Manager Role:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Review financial statement disclosures to ensure transparency and compliance with US GAAP.
Conduct research, interpret, and implement new accounting pronouncements or regulatory changes.
Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and document memos on technical or complex accounting issues/transactions (e.g., ASC 805, ASC 842, etc.).
Train accounting staff on technical accounting issues.
Develop and implement accounting policies to align with industry standards and US GAAP.
Collaborate with various departments to communicate and educate teams on accounting policies and procedures.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing policies and recommend updates as necessary.
Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard financial information.
Collaborate with internal audit to identify and rectify control deficiencies.
Implement best practices to improve the effectiveness of internal controls.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and senior management, including finance, legal, and operations, to maintain accurate financial reporting, upholding the integrity of financial information.
Communicate complex accounting issues clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
Offer advice on transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate endeavors to ensure adherence to accounting standards.
Assess the financial ramifications of proposed transactions and offer recommendations to senior management.
Accounting Manager Background Profile:
Bachelorâ s degree in accounting/finance and CPA license is required.
Masterâ s degree is a huge plus.
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Public Accounting experience is strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Experience within retail, restaurant, or similar industry with multiple locations in various tax jurisdictions.
Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
