Controller - Finance Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Controller plans, develops, implements, evaluates and directs day-to-day activities of the financial operations of the agency. This includes but is not limited to assuring financial planning, management, and budgeting; financial data processing reporting operations; licensure/certification/accreditation regulations and agency policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, develops, implements, maintains, evaluates, and revises as necessary the financial data collection, processing, and reporting operations of the agency.

Participate in developing the company's plans and programs as a strategic partner related to financial functions.

Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.

Providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports that will assist the leadership team in managing operational goals.

Assures that appropriate safeguards for the security of all payroll and financial data in the business office and data processing as well as security measures supplies/shipments in shipping and receiving are maintained by weekly report of Accounts Payable check documents, review of Shipping/ Receiving Logs, review of monthly financial statement, review of weekly payroll check register, etc.

In conjunction with leadership, prepares and revises the agency annual budget; budget applications; request for proposals; and monthly and/or periodic financial reports.

Reviews business office and shipping & receiving policies and procedures and records for evidence of timely and proper payroll payments to staff and persons served; purchasing/payment of bills, collection of receivables, cost accounting and property control; and general accuracy of accounting records.

Manages and develops financial marketing profiles; this shall reflect sales, profit and loss levels and trends.

Prepares and/or reviews monthly general ledger entries; payroll taxes; and sales tax.

Manages and maintains the agency financial operations in compliance with agency Policies and Procedures; local, state and federal laws.

Provides financial consultations and technical assistance for the development and revisions of policies and procedures and systems manuals plans to ensure efficient and effective operation of the business office and shipping and receiving of the agency.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in finance or business discipline, Master’s degree and CPA preferred.

Five years or more of progressive leadership responsibility.

Must be able to communicate effectively and diplomatically in both oral and written form and be able to meet and work with President and leadership team.

Must be able to maintain payroll, financial, personnel, and information related to persons served as confidential.
