Job Profile : Network Engineer

Location : Chennai - Ambattur

Shift : Rotational Night Shift

Work Mode : Work from office

Job Responsibility:

● 2 years experience working for a Service Provider in an engineering or operations capacity.

● Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience. CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification preferred.

● Ability to communicate highly technical information in a clear, concise and effective manner both internally and to Vonage customers.

● A good understanding and operational experience with the following protocols and technologies is a requirement.

● IP routing protocols including BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and OSPF (Open Shortest Path First).

● Router redundancy protocols including HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol) and VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) and IP SLA (Internet Protocol Service Level Agreement).

● Ethernet protocols including Spanning Tree and 802.1Q

● Access Control, Network Address Translation, Quality of Service & Route Filtering.

● Extensive experience with Cisco IOS (Internetworking Operating System) and Adtran Operating System (AOS)

● Familiarity with MPLS (Multiprotocol Lable Switching) and related technologies/protocols.

● Working Knowledge of Cisco ASA (Adaptive Security Appliance), VPN (Virtual Private Network) Concentrator and associated protocols (IPSEC – Internet Protocol Security / GRE – Generic Routing Encapsulation).

● Experience provisioning and troubleshooting Ethernet, T1 (Transmission System 1), DS3 (Digital Signal 3), SONET (Synchronous Optical Networking) / SDH (Synchronous Digital Heirarchy) and MetroE (Metro Ethernet) circuits.

Primary Skills:

Design, configuration, and deployment of customer solutions

Manage and develop Vonage's customer's networks.

Provide pre/post sales technical support.

Produce high quality documentation for customer's networks.

Carry out network maintenance to improve customer networks.

Work with vendors to troubleshoot network issues.
