Job Description
Our company is currently seeking a Full Charge Accountant Bookkeeper for our Lombard Illinois location. You will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for our company. This is a full-time on-site position. If you are someone who takes initiative and ownership, has high attention to detail and a problem solving attitude, we would love to hear from you.
Position Summary:
Process the day to day financial transactions of the business including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee expenses, reconcile accounts, prepare reports and tax forms, etc.
Communicate, explain, and administer employment benefits; implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Reconcile bills to purchase orders and receiving records, resolve discrepancies, if any
Process and record all bills, ensure they are paid timely and accurately, and take discounts when allowed
Review and process expense reports; import and process employee credit card transactions
Review sales orders; monitor fulfillment progress; issue invoices to customers
Monitor receivables, and follow up with customers on past due accounts
Monitor, review and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation
Comply with agency, local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, including sales and use tax returns, property tax reports, business registration renewals, annual reports, etc.
Research and document tax and labor laws as needed
Process payroll; administer employee benefits
Update, communicate, explain, and enforce company policies and procedures
Maintain fixed assets and rental equipment records
Maintain insurance policies and schedules, including inland marine insurance and auto insurance; distribute and collect insurance certificates to and from customers and suppliers as needed
Perform other financial and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred
Minimum of five years accounting and multi-state sales tax experience
Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, Access, and Google Apps
Working knowledge of federal and state taxation and labor laws, rules and regulations
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong organizational skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
