POSITION TITLE: Die Setter
REPORTS TO: Shift Lead or Supervisor FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for setting up and adjusting various sizes of dies into stamping presses to ensure parts are produced within specification. Perform any necessary die adjustments at set ups and check accuracy during production. Ability to configure, adjust, and operate presses and other mechanical equipment. Verify the quality production of their assigned jobs at expected production level
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate with production scheduling and have dies prepped and ready for set-up.
Shut down all jobs at the end of run, PM, and return the dies to the proper storage location.
Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, oiling, and lubricating machines.
Work with die makers/engineering to support tooling changes and adjustments.
Repair dies as needed. This includes welding, grinding, and creating tooling for production improvements.
Adjust and repair dies by adding, removing, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges
Set up, operate, and program presses.
Troubleshoot and check machine operation.
III. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required per job description.
Good communication skills.
Leadership, able to direct and train employees.
Welding. grinding, tool repair, measuring, troubleshooting
Capable of operating presses, lathes, mills, robotics
Able to read and follow blueprints.
Ability to provide guidance and training to other die setters and press operators.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
