We are currently seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Electric Utility Design Division.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Two-year or four-year degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or related field.
MicroStation and AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience
Knowledge of 2D computer aided drafting
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written, graphical, and verbal forms
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Willingness to work in an office environment
Willingness to perform field work outdoors in varying conditions
Experience with electrical systems of various voltages
Basic understanding of electric utility design preferred
Familiarity with NEC and/or NESC code is beneficial
Ability to apply company standards to electric system designs
Ability to work with cross-functional teams to carry designs through completion
Strong attention to detail and ability to document field conditions via notes and pictures
Valid Driver’s License required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and drafting of overhead, direct buried, and conduit & manhole distribution and service electrical systems
Create easy to follow MicroStation drawings that will be used in the construction of electric facilities
Create bill of materials for construction, budgeting, and customer pricing
Work with external contacts to obtain traffic control plans and permits as needed
Review civil construction plans and apply company standards and best-practices to create functional designs
Work with customers to obtain necessary information, review plans and ensure company standards are being met
Communicate with engineers, right of way, and construction crews
Review and document field conditions to identify potential construction challenges
Create diggers hotline tickets to identify underground facilities
Travel to construction sites to communicate with electricians, developers, customers, and construction crews and ensure safety protocols are being followed
