IPCL aims to expand business in the next 3 years, focusing on expanding network and transformer capacity by 1.5X by 2025, with a potential capex of INR 750-1000 Cr, and achieve an EBITDA goal of 500 Cr.

What does this role entail?

It’s a diversified role in power distribution that includes O&M, Project Execution, Commercial & Billing, and Customer Management which will encompass 70% of the role, and Business Development to involve the remaining 30%. The role requires a combination of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and business acumen.

Some of the key responsibilities are as follows:

## P/L of the distribution business in the licensed area

## Oversee day-to-day power distribution operations, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

## Implement best practices in distribution system operations to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.

## Implement new technology initiatives to maintain a 3% T&D loss to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the distribution network.

## Ensure best-in-class reliability indices. Focus on the supply of the highest quality power by measuring key parameters.

## Develop and manage budgets for the power distribution division, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.

## Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and implement initiatives to improve service quality and responsiveness to customer needs.

## Stay informed about relevant regulations and ensure the power distribution operations comply with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

## Represent the company in regulatory interactions and contribute to the development of industry standards.

## Plan and oversee the expansion and maintenance of the power distribution infrastructure, including substations, transformers, and distribution lines.

## Assess risks associated with power distribution operations and develop strategies to mitigate potential challenges. Implement emergency response plans to address unforeseen events impacting power distribution.

Some key attributes desired of this role

## 25+ years’ experience in the power sector with at least 15 years in power distribution

## Experience in managing the complete operation cycle of power distribution – Project, O&M, Meter Management, Commercial, Billing, and Customer Management.

## In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, regulations, and industry best practices.

## Preferred to have experience in implementing technology projects for power distribution like OMS, DMS, SCADA, Demand Response Systems, AMI, and Smart Grid

## Preferred to have prior working experience in Discoms.

## Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

## Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
