KV Capital’s Private Mortgages business unit currently manages approximately $400 million in assets, comprising private loans secured by commercial real estate throughout Canada. Since its inception in 2009, the Private Mortgages business unit has underwritten, funded and serviced over 450 commercial real estate loans, amounting to over $1.3 billion in funds advanced, to entrepreneurs, developers, and institutions. Our dedicated team, with several decades of combined experience, specializes in financing various real estate classes, primarily focusing on providing financing for land and land servicing, construction, and acquisition and stabilization financing for multi-family, retail, industrial, office, hospitality, and mixed-use properties.
POSITION Associate Director, Loan Administration
Private Mortgages Division

YOUR OPPORTUNITY
As a key member of the Loan Administration team, the Associate Director is responsible for various functions and duties related to servicing and administering KV Capital’s commercial mortgage loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders. This role offers an opportunity for professional development in a dynamic work environment.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct loan servicing and administration activities, including (but not limited to):
Review and entry of loan transactions in servicing software in accordance with the parameters outlined in loan documents
Supervision of the maintenance of accurate loan record information (principal balances, charges, property information, security values, loan to value, trust accounts, etc.) and investor portfolio balances
Coordination and facilitation of post-closing activities, including renewals, amendments, discharges, and account administration
Oversee the processing of mortgage payment collections and remitting of payments to investors
General mortgage loan portfolio monitoring and reporting, inclusive of assisting in the resolution of basic borrower default events (e.g. bounced payments)
Review of loan agreements, loan security, and various other source documentation to ensure appropriate tracking in the systems
Supervise the collection, entry, and reconciliation of financial and property data for loan reviews, aiding in the administration of construction advances, conducting mortgage underwriting and annual operating statement analysis, and collaborating with borrower clients to secure requisite documentation and elucidations for operating statement discrepancies
Ensure compliance with policies, legal, ethical, privacy and regulatory requirements
Provide exceptional client service for institutional lenders/direct investors, including periodic reporting requirements and preparation of and adherence to Service Level Agreements with the utmost accuracy
Assist in the preparation of various internal and external reports
Plan, monitor, and analyze key operational metrics
Participate in or lead projects in support of best practice with respect to process improvements, efficiencies, internal controls and reporting needs
YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS
A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or equivalent designation preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage funding, loan servicing, or financial operations, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility preferred
Exceptional problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex financial transactions and resolve discrepancies effectively
Proven leadership abilities, including the capacity to mentor and develop junior team members, foster collaboration, and drive results in a dynamic environment
Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated expertise in Excel
Advanced technical computing skills, with a demonstrated ability to learn new systems and applications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strategic mindset and the ability to think critically about process improvements, operational efficiency and risk mitigation strategies
A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
