Header Welder – TIG/Stick

Trinity Employment Specialists – Tulsa, OK 74135

Full Time Monday – Friday $22-25/Hr (DOE)

Summary:

Welders must be proficient in blueprint reading for layout. Must be able to correctly fit and weld fabricated and forged components to assemble Header components with Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and/or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Process. Position, align, and fit components together and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding using correct welding process and procedure. Ability to set-up welding equipment for use of certain types of material. 3-5 years code welding experience required. Test requirements: pass a 2G plate test with the GTAW root pass and SMAW fill and cap.

Responsibilities:

Read blueprints for layout.

Fit and weld fabricated and forged components to assemble Header components with Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and/or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Process

Position, align, and fit components together and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding using correct welding process and procedure.

Set-up welding equipment for use of certain types of material.

Requirements:

3-5 years code welding experience required.

Test requirements: pass a 2G plate test with the GTAW root pass and SMAW fill and cap.

Ability to set-up welding equipment for use of certain types of material.

Proficient in blueprint reading for layout.

* Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

* Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

* Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.

* Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.

* Grind, cut, buff, or bend edges of workpieces to be joined to ensure snug fit, using power grinders and hand tools.

* Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.

* Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.

* Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.

* Operate metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines, such as brakes and shears.
