Job Description: Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant will support the day-to-day operations at their assigned IntraCare clinic. They will provide administrative support to the clinic as well as ensuring high-quality customer service to our patients. The Medical Assistant will be cross trained on both the front and back of the office, including billing support, scheduling, coding, patient communication, and filing.
The Medical Assistant will report to the Area Administrator and/or clinic office manager and will receive clinical direction and oversight from the Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician. This individual will be an intricate part of the clinical operations, which aims in achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer inquiries of patients, including assisting patients in accessing other services offered by the clinic
Prepares exam rooms for patient care, and facilitating the use of diagnostic equipment
Measures, collects and records patient's vital signs and prepares patients for examinations and tests, procedures and x-rays
Performs routine patient testing, acquires and processes electrocardiograms, and collects and processes blood specimens and urine samples
Manage electronic patient files
Accurately update and maintain patients' health records
Communicate test results to patients when directed by physicians or nursing professionals
Front office duties such as, but not limited to:
Greeting patients, guests and business representatives as they enter the clinic and determine their reason for visit
Gather identification documents and complete patient registration process, including data entry
Complete patient check-in and check-out processes
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
Complete payment transactions, including collection of payment
Complete insurance verification and eligibility, assist the billing department with processing claims
On occasion, complete pre-cert and authorization when necessary
Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
Active Medical Assistant Certification required
Active BLS CPR Certification required
High School Diploma or GED required
Bilingual, Required
Previous work in a medical office, clinic, or physician practice, 2+ years preferred
Physical Requirements:
Requires light to medium lifting, up to 50 pounds
Ability to travel to various clinic sites, required
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to access and navigate each department and clinic site
Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to commute to the clinic location
