Alida Biosciences is an early-stage, VC backed startup company in San Diego focused on developing novel analysis tools for the detection of epigenomic markers. The company’s assay technology and analysis software will advance the general understanding of gene regulation and drive the discovery of epigenetic drug targets and next-gen RNA-based therapies. Head of Commercial

Alida Biosciences is seeking a bold and energetic individual who has a passion for genomic advances and wants to shape a young company’s portfolio and market entry. We are currently looking for an experienced commercial leader who will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy to introduce Alida Bio’s core technology to academic, translational and clinical research markets. The commercial lead will collaborate closely with senior leadership and build a network of collaborations and partnerships. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the next inflection point in genomics enabled by Alida Bio’s sequencing technologies.

Responsibilities

Shape go-to-market strategy, develop a plan and lead the team in identifying, engaging, educating and winning early customers.

Develop, execute and monitor sales plan to meet corporate revenue and strategic objectives.

Identify, engage, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships that fulfill company objectives.

Develop and implement strategic plans for business growth, identifies new markets, opportunities, and partnerships to drive revenue and business model.

Establish value added relationships with key partners, clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Collaborate with the marketing lead to develop and execute marketing campaigns and branding initiatives that support the organization's commercial objectives.

Responsible for forecasting revenue targets and tracking performance against goals.

Work collaboratively with leadership team, R&D, marketing and operations to gather customer insights that will define future product roadmap priorities.

Serve as a company spokesman at industry events, consortia, conferences, and trade shows to build a strong network, influence industry direction, generate leads, and stay updated on market trends.

Requirements

PhD in genomics or a related field paired with significant business leadership experience, or Bachelors degree in genomics or a related field plus MBA.

Typically 10+ years in-depth knowledge and experience in genomics markets.

Strong scientific and technical acumen in genomics and NGS (next generation sequencing) products is a must.

Strategic thinker able to translate strategic plans into action. Confidence navigating nascent markets and ability to identify growth opportunities. Strong executive presence.

Experience managing deals from inception to close, achieving milestones through strong leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Experience working with legal and other stakeholders to define, negotiate and close complex agreements.

Experience in conducting financial planning, modeling, pricing and analysis and championing the business case with Senior Management.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into marketing messages and content that resonates with key customers and thought leaders.

Exceptional interpersonal skills both written and verbal, with experience effectively influencing, communicating and networking at all levels within an organization

Flexibility to travel.
