The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and refining systems and processes for the Project Management Office (PMO) within the oil and gas construction sector. This position places a significant emphasis on leveraging extensive project management and construction experience to establish robust frameworks that drive efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and enhance project delivery capabilities. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for effectively developing presentations, reports, and technical documentation to communicate project status, performance, and outcomes to stakeholders.

This is a contract position starting immediately and will end on Dec 31st 2024 with possibility of extension. We can hire the chosen candidate on a temporary employee or contractor basis.

What would you be doing?

PMO Systems and Processes Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive systems and processes tailored to the needs of the PMO. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, streamline workflows, and enhance project management practices. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to establish best practices and drive organizational excellence.

Project Management Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and guidance in project management methodologies and practices. Establish standardized project management frameworks, tools, and templates to ensure consistency and alignment across projects. Develop effective project management techniques and processes.

Project Controls Enhancement: Enhance project controls processes and systems to enable proactive monitoring, analysis, and mitigation of project risks and issues. Develop robust project control frameworks encompassing cost management, scheduling, risk management, and quality assurance. Implement performance measurement metrics to track project progress and ensure adherence to project objectives.

Technical Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the development of technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate project status, performance, and outcomes. Utilize Microsoft Office tools, including Visio, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to create comprehensive project documentation and facilitate effective communication with stakeholders. Develop compelling presentations that convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the needs of diverse audiences.

Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate the adoption of new processes, tools, and methodologies within the PMO. Engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization to gain alignment, address concerns, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Act as a liaison between project teams, leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Does this sound like you?

Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and construction within the oil and gas industry.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Proven track record of developing and implementing systems and processes within a project management office (PMO) environment.

Extensive experience in project controls, supply chain management, and technical documentation.

Strong proficiency in written and oral communication, with the ability to develop compelling presentations and reports.

Excellent leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and drive organizational change.
