About the Internship Program:

The internship program at MAPMG is a paid 12-week (or longer) program taking place year-round that is designed to expose undergraduate and graduate students to a wide range of career opportunities in the healthcare field with valuable professional skills that can be transferred to any occupation or industry. The internship program provides undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in health care systems, data analysis, consulting, project management, and strategic planning the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a professional environment.

Students selected for internships gain on-the-job training that integrates education and career development. They will work directly with a mentor, who will provide supervision and mentoring. Together, the intern and mentor will develop an internship plan identifying specific projects or assignments to ensure a meaningful learning experience.

Overview:

MAPMG is seeking a Web Development Intern who is passionate and highly motivated in software development. The goal of the internship is to provide Interns with the opportunity to work on web related projects for MAPMG. This will include working with our data systems and web development tools to design, recommend and pitch improvements to new and existing web sites.

This position is benefits in-eligible.

This position will be based in Rockville, MD and offers a hybrid work arrangement with the expectation of coming into the office on an as-needed basis. Applicants must be local or willing to relocate to the Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area.

Responsibilities:

Basic Object-Oriented Programming and RDBMS concepts

Excellent understanding and experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile Methodology

Use data querying tools such as SQL Server to read/write data to web sites

Accustomed with skills in SQL, HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, C#, .NET, Angular, JSON, PHP, React

Some experience with WordPress and SharePoint/ REST APIs

Works with the Team to review, analyze, and develop solutions for our various clients in MAPMG

Create prototypes and experiment with new technologies and features as assigned

Provide technical support related to web-based systems to internal teams

Assist in troubleshooting issues on web-based systems

Test and give feedback on new and existing technologies

Maintains confidentiality of patient records, information, and Departmental activities involving patient information and business polices, decisions, and operational plans

Qualifications:

Must be a college student work towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant field; Current graduate-level students are encouraged to apply

Experience utilizing C# and SQL required

Experience with Word Press is preferred

Must currently be enrolled in an accredited university program (newly graduated candidates will not be eligible)

1-2 years of previous internship experience preferred

Must be able to work during a minimum of 11 weeks for the duration of the internship
