Summary:

The Warranty Inspector is responsible for inspecting and properly coding tire submitted by Yokohama dealers, and fleets for warranty reimbursement. This position will also perform administrative tasks related to warranty claims, recalls, surveys and scrap tires.

Responsibilities:

Timely inspection, classification and processing of warranty claim tires

Accurately and timely process warranty claims using SAP

Verify tires and claim line counts vs. receiver (freight bill)

Correct mistakes on customer submitted claims and add requires information for prompt claim processing

Properly process and secure recall tires

Properly record any additional survey information requested by QA or tech management

Copy survey claims and secure tire and claim for weekly/monthly reporting

Properly “scrap” claim tires – remove DOT and cut through tire sidewall or prepare for resale as casing or used tire for TBS.

Assist with shipping survey and test tires in a timely manner

Assist with providing timely responsive service to all internal and external customers

Knowledge and Skills:

Efficient communication (written and verbal) skills

Must be effective in the Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with attention to detail

Strong team player who can maintain confidentiality

Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers

Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job

Education and Experience:

At least one year of warranty experience within the tire industry preferred

Knowledge of tire construction and tire conditions analysis preferred

Experience with light machinery (i.e. towmotor) operation preferred

Tire mounting and balancing experience preferred

High School Diploma or equivalent experience required

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods of time while working on a computer.

Must be able to repetitively use cutting tools such as box knifes and hand-held tools that vibrate the hands, wrists and arms.

Occasional travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business is required.

Employees must possess the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull and move materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Must be able to occasionally lift and then roll large tires on the ground weighing up to 200 pounds with or without assistance.

Must be able to remain standing or moving on feet for prolong periods of time.

Occasionally work indoors in a warehouse environment where temperature regulation may be inconsistent, and where there is exposure to noise, and machinery.

Driving forklift approximately 2hours a day
