What you'll bring to the team:

As a Parade Float Driver, You Will:

As a parade float driver, the driver will be responsible for safe driving and maneuvering in the parade route and backstage.

Act as the operator for your assigned parade float both during the parade and behind the scenes.

Responsible for safely operating and maneuvering parade floats along the parade route and in and out of storage.

Be continuously alert during operation to maintain the highest level of safety and operate floats around obstacles and people.

Operate all float equipment, including theatrical effects, based on the parade script and direction from creative and technical teams.

What You Get To Do:

Safely driving, towing, guiding, and supporting Parade float vehicles weighing up to 12,000 lbs. on the parade route and backstage.

Assist with towing other float units as needed, driving backstage and onstage, loading and unloading characters.

Perform checks on parade floats at the start and end of the day.

Maintain logging on vehicle and technical element performance.

Duties include but are not limited to driving backstage and onstage, loading and unloading characters, and assisting with props and Technical Systems readiness.

Operate technical equipment such as on-board show control, communications, Audio, Lighting, Video and Special Effects. Including the operation of theatrical effects and float to music.

Adhere to all safety guidelines, procedures, and pre-determined routes and cues.

Assist in the start-up and preparation of all floats, including, but not limited to, cleaning, effect preparation, prop setting, and assisting costume characters in boarding floats.

Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Provides a high level of guest service with a positive attitude towards park guests and ambassadors.

Supporting other Entertainment Technical functions outside this job with other duties assigned, such as but not limited to – crew load in projects, work calls, and other duties.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience and Requirements:

Must have a valid state driver’s license with a clear record.

Must be 18 years old or older.

Must be comfortable working in very confined and tight spaces with little room to maneuver.

Leads by example with a demonstrated history of supporting colleagues as a team player.

Strong problem-solving skills and dedication to providing outstanding guest service.

Requires the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Experience operating heavy machinery (forklifts, man lifts, pickup trucks, box trucks) is preferred.

Should be familiar with theatrical terminology.

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively speak in English.

Must be able to react quickly to both audial and visual directions to guide the float on the parade path.

Must be comfortable working in close proximity to other people.

Must be comfortable utilizing all required PPE, including dual ear over-the-ear hearing protection.

Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to sit, stand, crouch, kneel, squat, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions.

Education:

A high school diploma or general education degree (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred.

Other Requirements:

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support park operations.

Pre-employment placement physical may be required.

Pay Range:

From USD $20.50/Hr.
