Requirements
National Diploma or B. Degree in Mining
Must have an opencast blasting ticket
Mine managers’ certificate
Managerial qualification
5 years’ experience in open cast mining environment of which at least
2 years experience as a Production Manager level.
Experience with open pit heavy equipment fleet and open pit operations and mechanically inclined
Experience in drilling, blasting, loading, hauling and pit dewatering
KPA
Health, Safety and Environment
Complies with the Mine Health and Safety Act as well as company policies and procedures
Production
Assists with the drawing up of business strategy and budget formulation
Ensure optimal production of mining and plant
Achieve productivity targets
Cost
Ensure correct allocation of resources e.g., labour and equipment
Allocate/withhold funds as dictated by operational requirements
Labour management
Define labour structure and ensure vacancies are filled within reasonable time
Review subordinates’ performances quarterly according to their respective KPIs
Approval and monitor of overtime in maintenance department based on Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirement
Manage leave schedule.
