Pumpkin is looking for a collaborative and agile HR Generalist to support our business and rapidly expanding team.

In this role, you will serve as a strategic HR partner, focusing on our hourly and sales workforce.

You will act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance to colleagues and managers on HR-related topics and colleague relations.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with HR policies, processes, and best practices across the business, and assisting in the development and implementation of our People strategy as we continue to scale.

If you're a conceptual thinker with excellent organizational and time management skills, along with a strong understanding of multi-state employment laws, this position is for you!

This will be a hybrid position, with a minimum requirement of 2 days a week in our Columbus, Ohio office.

What You'll Do:

Manage and resolve complex colleague relation issues.

Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Manage HR functions for a geographically dispersed hourly and sales workforce, ensuring HR policies/procedures comply with state and federal laws.

Act as a trusted advisor for management providing HR guidance on a wide range of topics from colleague relations, performance management, etc.

Display business maturity and strong emotional intelligence to coach, develop, influence, and counsel multi-level managers.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of colleagues, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance.

Organize and facilitate Pumpkin’s compliance training.

Manage our new hire performance program as well as facilitating mid year and annual reviewsAnalyze trends and metrics within the HR department to develop solutions, programs and policies.

Promote an inclusive work environment aligned with our people first philosophy and participate in the development of colleague experience initiatives (recognition programs, milestone recognition, etc.).

Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of HR Business Partner/Generalist or related experience, with a strong focus on supporting hourly employees across multiple states.

Experience with managing high-volume employee relation cases and supporting an hourly workforce.

Demonstrated success in establishing strong and productive partnerships with employees and managers.

Comprehensive knowledge of employment and labor laws across the country, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations to ensure compliance.

Strong business acumen, critical thinking, results-oriented approach, and the ability to identify effective solutions.

Exceptionally organized, process-oriented and strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple high-priority requests.

Advanced knowledge and utilization of HR platforms (HRIS, PEO, ATS, etc.)Experience working in a fast paced environment.

Highly accountable with good discretion and the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.

Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field of study is preferred.
