Position Summary

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for supporting and configuring all aspects of Donatos AWS cloud environment including infrastructure, identity management, data, monitoring, alerting, and DevOps functionality. The Cloud Engineer will also be responsible for establishing a go-forward strategy for new and innovative cloud opportunities, providing consultative direction, and leading the adoption of new cloud technologies. The candidate should have excellent analytical skills, a logical approach to problem solving, and be able to liaise with various stakeholders to understand complex requirements.

The ideal candidate will have software development experience in an agile Java or PHP environment and have a focus on exceptional customer service, striving to leave things better than they were.

Job duties and responsibilities

Administer and optimize all existing cloud-based ecommerce daily operations, ensuring a secure and reliable environment for our customers and franchise partners.

Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring of the Donatos environment and partner with respective teams for effective automated alerting. Establish anomaly parameters and oversee the response and repair of alerts.

Lead recovery efforts during critical hardware or software failures. Execute thorough root-cause analysis and implement all opportunities to avoid repeat scenarios.

Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems/services; assist in development and implementation strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

Lead the creation of a mature disaster recovery plan and execute periodic coordinated disaster recovery tests.

Build, maintain, and present cloud architecture diagrams and documentation which represent the cloud ecosystem at Donatos.

Serve as the liaison and primary relationship manager with external cloud partners who deliver system-related products and services.

Provide oversight and support of the cloud data management strategy, systems, and techniques.

Actively monitor the cloud industry for new trends and technologies. Provide consultative direction and strategy for the organization roadmap. Execute exploratory adoption tests and lead full adoption implementation as advised.

Work Arrangement Options

Donatos has identified this position is eligible for the following work arrangements:

Full-Time Onsite: The Associate in the position will work all regularly scheduled days onsite.

Hybrid: The Associate in this position will work 3 regularly scheduled days onsite, 2 days off-site weekly.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid and/or remote work do not automatically qualify the Associate to perform in a hybrid or remote only work arrangement.

Minimum requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, related fields, or equivalent experience required.

Industry certifications preferred.

Previous Experience

5 years’ experience working in cloud environments and extensive understanding of cloud infrastructure, cloud data management, and DevOps.

Experience designing and implementing business-critical applications in the cloud.

Experience with production monitoring tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch).

Experience in DevOps and Agile/Scrum.

Clear understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

E-Commerce Cloud Experience preferred
