The primary purpose of this position is to recruit, retain, and lead an Advisory Consulting organization (Data Center Transformation) which provides the entire lifecycle of advisory consulting solutions, from pre-sales through delivery. The position is responsible for building strong relationships with customers and account teams who lead to highly successful services engagements.

What you will do:

Continuously evaluate CDW Advisory Services (CAS) team capacity and capability in relation to engagement pipeline

Influence resource development plans to align with long-term service delivery capability needs

Monitor engagement pipeline for accuracy and quality; Work with sales & operations to improve data

Work with resources to forecast engagement assignments and utilization to meet team billable utilization and other key performance indicators

Meets with client teams to discuss CAS capabilities:

Supports efforts in client team relationship building

Is credible and persuasive in face-to-face settings

Advises on or manages solution design, development, and implementation of large, complex consulting engagements to leverage consulting capabilities, resources, and capacity

Works closely with CDW client teams to ensure maximization of business potential within accounts and customer satisfaction:

Support client teams by providing references that can be shared with future clients

Works with client engagement teams to achieve tangible and profitable client outcomes

Develops market awareness of IT requirements and trends:

Participates in client forums/roundtables/advisory groups

Leverages diverse expertise across all CDW practices

Creates solutions with the client that solve the client's business problem(s) by leveraging the service catalog

People Development

Recruits and selects new team members based on company growth plans and/or skill needs

Attracts talented professionals to CDW

Supports efforts to integrate new hires to better ensure their success

Strategically balances available consulting skillsets with market & client trends. Provides executive level business justifications and strategy when recruiting for new team members based on company growth plans and/or skill needs

Develops and maintains a good working environment for the team:

Creates a positive impact on CDW culture through demonstration of values and core competencies

Supports employee engagement initiatives within CDW

Recognizes and rewards individual and team effort

Supports behaviors that contribute to a constructive culture, recognizing their positive impact on business performance

Leadership

Participates in overall business planning, bringing current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to the company’s competitive position:

Takes the initiative to provide visible leadership during difficult situations and when obstacles arise

Prepares information for Executive Leadership regarding opportunity status and reviews any challenges:

Shares client feedback with appropriate CDW stakeholders to continuously improve our solutions and implementations

Conducts reviews at the client, to obtain feedback on CDW performance

Incorporates feedback from reviews to recognize good performance and address performance gaps

Provides a high-level interface to other departments and organizations within the company to understand their business needs and requirements, setting clear expectations, and communicating solutions progress related to technology services initiatives:

Leads the adoption of organizational changes at CDW using best practices for managing and communicating change.

Financial Management

Works with Accounting and Services Operations personnel to ensure accurate resource accounting

Employs a holistic view of the client and develops long-term strategic account plans utilizing CDW tools and methods

Leads the identification and qualification of client opportunities in order to expand our footprint at the client

Stays informed of the ITC-PS financial performance and business objectives Applies an understanding of engagement economics to achieve CDW financial objectives

Conducts periodic business reviews with Executive leadership Monitors engagement pipeline, accurately forecasting and communicating resource requirements for opportunities expected to close date

Provides services reporting and forecasting using Sales Force dashboards to manage risk and identify trends

Manages expense budgets which consists of education, pre-sales and other internal expenses

Assesses which classes/conferences are needed to build and maintain skills

Participates in the development of business plans and budget plans that support both the long-term and the short-term objectives of the company:

Consistently meets or exceeds booked and accrued revenue targets

Meets profitability targets through skillful management of expenditures, team utilization, and an ability to communicate CDW’s value proposition

Forecasts revenue generation to support the planning and review process

Business Development & Growth

Identify, understand, and communicate emerging technologies, market trends, and client needs:

Is recognized as a thought leader outside of CDW

Develops and maintains relationships with key vendors in areas of specialty:

Schedules meetings with vendors to discuss challenges, what’s working and opportunities

Introduces CDW consultants to appropriate vendor personnel

Aligns with product and service opportunities:

Stays informed of technology best practices and applies them during solution development

Takes the lead as a strategy owner or technical owner for a technology solution:

Assesses the resource requirements of our Service offerings and applies the appropriate leverage model to ensure profit targets are achieved

Helps create go to market plans

Authors and reviews written materials to ensure they are succinct and persuasive

Provides counsel on critical technology issues to Client Executives

Determines strategic growth areas nationally for a particular technology solution:

Serve as an authority on multiple service offerings and displays a working knowledge of other service offerings

Evaluates partners and offerings

Develops and maintains national relationships with vendors

Integrates different vendor offerings to deliver end-to-end technology solutions

Helps define and implement process improvements:

Promotes the creation and use of standard delivery methodologies to foster repeatable processes

Grows the product and services business in a particular solution area:

Practices consultative selling to build rapport and establish a trusted advisor relationship with clients

Builds long-term client business relationships that extend across the depth and breadth of the client organization

Leverages and expands network to prospect for new business and win work

Connects business problems to CDW solutions

In partnership with the sales team, leads and manages complex client proposals.

Participates in Services leadership meetings and plays a key role in strategy for the practice and go to market plans:

Profitably monetizes future technology trends that are consistent with CDW’s strategic direction

Develops and creates services offerings:

Leads the development of new service offerings geared to the needs of the market

Continuously looks for ways to improve existing offerings and processes to achieve greater quality and profitability

Involves individuals with different points of view and areas of expertise to generate new perspectives on problem solving and solution development

What we expect of you:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field

Appropriate Master’s degree in a business or technology field or equivalent experience

At least ten (10) years’ experience developing and implementing complex Information Technology solutions, to include at least five (5) years’ experience leading teams in a consulting environment

Experience with leading a team while enacting coaching and mentoring practices

Demonstrated ability to profitably grow a technology consulting services business

Demonstrated ability to structure, organize and lead a team of technical personnel

Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire and retain technical and management talent

Demonstrated track record integrating different vendor offerings to deliver comprehensive solutions

Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to motivate a team to realize the goals of the, the IT industry and to visualize and capture market transition opportunities

Demonstrated ability to create and price complex IT services offerings

Demonstrated communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

Demonstrated ability to multitask and to prioritize workload

Demonstrated influencing skills, with the ability to be seen as a thought leader by clients and within the technology industry

Demonstrated experience with design, development, and deployment of IT solutions using industry or vendor-specific methodologies and techniques

Relationships with IT vendors relevant to the capability portfolio
