Mental Health Technician

Job Description

Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of mental health professionals

- Implement crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate and manage challenging situations

- Assist with the development and implementation of treatment plans

- Monitor and document patient behaviors and progress

- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers

- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations

- Collaborate with social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients

- Utilize behavior management strategies to promote positive patient outcomes

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred

- Previous experience working with children or individuals with mental health disorders is highly desirable

- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and behavior management strategies

- Familiarity with medical documentation and record keeping procedures

- Ability to administer medications following established protocols and guidelines

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information
