Machine Operator

Job Description

We have a career opportunity for an experienced machine operator to work various machines at our John C. Nordt facility in Roanoke. In this dynamic role you will set up and operate CNC lathes and manual machines working with precious metals.

Responsibilities include:

Change tools, tool holders, collets, tool inserts, blocks and/ or holders and set tools

Read drawing instructions and production orders

Milgrain metals

Visually inspect product for quality

Use measuring instruments to ensure completed product is within specified tolerance

Our team works well together to calmly adapt to changes in the work environment/ priorities, delays or unexpected events. We are looking for someone who is not easily fazed and can change their approach to best fit the situation.

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED

2+ years manufacturing machine experience

Basic computer skills

Ability to read micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring devices

Ability to read .000”

Good problem-solving skills

Good visual acuity and manual dexterity

High level of attention to detail

Able to sit or stand throughout an 8-hour shift

Able to lift 25 pounds
