ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Compensation & Benefits Administrator coordinates and manages the employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring both are strategically aligned to support the goals and values of Schwartz Farms. Incumbent shall identify job requirements, evaluate positions, determine appropriate benchmarks, and maintain job descriptions to ensure the company is competitive with compensation. Similarly, incumbent shall work with vendors to manage plans, identify market trends, evaluate employee needs, and ensure compliance of benefit plans.

Compensation

Prepare and maintain job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensure descriptions accurately reflect work classification (exempt/nonexempt) and the work performed, and that jobs are properly grouped within SFI's position grids

Perform job analysis, including but not limited to interviewing and surveying employees and managers to gather and evaluate job and occupational demands including duties, responsibilities, and skills

Research and compare compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assess competitor plans and make recommendations for improvements required to maintain competitiveness and effectiveness

Maintain knowledge of economic conditions, labor markets, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable compensation scales and structures

Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position; participate in salary surveys

Assess and analyze compensation trends in marketplace

Prepares and maintain annual budgets, salary bands and merit increase guidelines

Conduct data to be used in employee performance reviews

Review bonus and reward programs for competitiveness and appropriateness

Benefits

Research employee benefits in similar industries, geographic regions and employer size; based on findings, recommend changes or updates to the company's existing benefits or policies

Work with insurance brokers and investment planners to create competitive, cost-effective benefits packages for the organization

Determine implementation and enrollment for insurance and retirement plans for new hires and during open enrollment

Administer employee benefit programs including 401(k), life, disability, and health insurance plans

Advise and inform employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions

Conduct focus groups to collect employee feedback on issues or topics related to benefits

Perform audits and reporting, including 401(k) audits, ACA reporting, etc.

Facilitate accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers

Conduct employee surveys, census, and other research and demographic efforts required to collect accurate quotes from benefit providers

Identify and select carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience

Monitor administrators and insurance carriers' reports to ensure the organizations' compliance with plan requirements

Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in benefits administration

Support team members with individual enrollments, qualifying events, benefit inquiries and terminations, demonstrating genuine care, appreciation and integrity

Organize, plan and conduct benefit meetings

Legal

Complete records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies

Ensure compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA

Advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements, as appropriate

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Excel in leadership, integrity, and collaboration

Acceptable MVR

Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and compensation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices, including but not limited to thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Bachelor's degree in human resources

Five years of progressive experience administering compensation or benefits programs preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

Position may involve travel and non-standard business hours.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Able to lift fifteen pounds.
