Director of Nursing (DON)

Currently we are looking for a director of nursing to lead our nursing department to providing quality care. A qualified director of nursing will have an active Nebraska nursing license (RN) and an active CPR certification.

Responsibilities:

Manage nursing leadership and the nursing team to ensure quality care is being provided.

Handle the on-call schedule among nurse leadership (including yourself).

Monthly audits and reviews (track call lights, med errors, risk management, expenses, etc).

Grievance follow-ups.

Staffing for the nursing team and nursing leadership.

Oversee clinical classes of nursing students.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Pass a physical exam.

Lift, push, pull and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc.

Be able to life up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day.

Bend, stoop and twist almost constantly throughout the day.

See and hear well enough to take blood pressure, chart, read thermometers, etc.

Remain active and on their feet for up to four (4) hours at a time.
