Salary Range: $55,000 to $60,000 per year

Benefit Eligible: Yes, includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision) along with paid time off and a 401k with company match

Location: Remote within the US, open to candidates residing in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, IL, LA, NC, NJ, NV, OH, TX, VA, WA, WI, WY

Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time

Reports to: Quality Control Administrator

The Opportunity

The Quality Control Compliance Specialist is responsible for policy, strategy, and testing methodology to meet regulatory authority compliance in regards to the company product. This role will specialize in USDA/FSIS & FDA Label Review & Approvals, and may assist with graphic design for label updating.

Essential Functions

Maintain compliance with USDA and FSIS labeling requirements.

Review and maintain product consistency across many 3rd party processors.

Monitor and maintain internal USDA and FDA compliance within our distribution network.

Assist with any inspections/audits/handle communications with governing bodies (FDA, USDA).

Complete and answer any requested compliance tasks or questions internally and from specific vendors/contract manufacturers/governing bodies.

Keep all internal documents updated for all products.

Update all written procedures/create as-needed.

Perform quality checks on products to release for shipment to customers.

Create logs for traceability.

Ensure all company owned buildings are compliant.

Ensure training is completed and updated.

Work with a quality consultant to ensure compliance.

Update any registrations/certifications for the company.

Maintain vendor/supplier certifications.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, or related experience.

Five to ten years of work experience in a related role, involving quality control, compliance, and/or food safety.

Experience with USDA and FSIS regulations.

Preferred Education & Experience

Certified Quality Control Inspector preferred

10+ years of related experience preferred.

Graphic design knowledge to assist with label updates preferred.

Relevant experience with: Dropbox, Google Drive Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Monday/Slack

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies that weigh up to 20 pounds, and to bend and stand as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position during regular business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Up to 5% travel. Some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.

The employee must be authorized to work in the United States.
