As the Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Programs for Precision Machined Products (PMP), you will be our “chief growth officer” responsible for crafting and delivering winning go-to-market strategies, customer relationships and successful growth plans in close alignment with the goals and capabilities of the company, with specific focus on Aerospace and Defense markets within North America.

This newly created position is a highly visible role that demands a strategic thinker, charismatic leader, collaborator, and doer who can help shape the future of our company. Your focus will be on deploying excellent sales, marketing and program management tools and processes within our organization and across our core customer base to build stronger/better relationships and gain an increasing and profitable share of our core customers’ business. Additionally, through enhanced market awareness and insightful analysis, you will also identify industry trends and opportunities to either add or subtract customers to our core so that we focus our resources and efforts where they generate the most growth and best returns.

Your prior experience in tight tolerance machining, manufacturing and/or assembly sales; developing and leading successful aerospace sales and program management teams; and ability to support a collaborative, innovative, resilient culture will be instrumental in your success and ours.

Essential Functions

Lead and drive Sales & Marketing and Program Mgmt. roles, responsibilities, and performance to achieve the company’s growth goals:

• Create a culture of competent and aggressive business pursuit through outstanding preparation, positive attitude, collaboration, and success.

• Research and analyze market/customer trends and needs. Develop long-term forecasts based on customer requirements, contractual requirements, trends, and market activity.

• Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership and other company functions.

• Develop/execute effective business strategy and implementation plan, with emphasis on Aerospace & Defense and complex machining demand, to achieve Revenue/KPI targets in alignment with company strategy and requirements.

• Craft business development and sales strategies for our respective markets and customers.

• Develop and manage relationship plans and coordinate cross-functional activities for all accounts; leverage and expand those relationships to identify additional capture opportunities and to increase interest and demand for PMP products; and acquire and develop new customer relationships where they align with our strategies and objectives.

• Establish best-in-class customer relationships, from buyers to engineers, to key decision-makers.

• Identify and manage new business revenue opportunities, understanding client requirements.

• Manage customer expectations and follow-up to contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Deploy and manage a timely and well-coordinated bid/no-bid process.

• Deploy and manage timely and well-coordinated process to return 100% of committed bids to customers on time.

• Conduct timely and accurate bid follow-up with customers and provide feedback/visibility to company leadership.

• Establish efficient and coordinated contract negotiation preparation checklist including roles and responsibilities.

• Develop the long-term strategy of each program and lead the Program Mgmt. team to help achieve company profitability goals.

• Develop long-term program plans and roadmaps to meet the program profitability objectives.

• Guide Program and Account Managers as they pilot development, entry into service and sustaining programs within the company from program inception through end-of-life activities.

• Identify risks and opportunities throughout the program life cycle, ensuring mitigation plans are established and escalated, as required.

• Monitor problem-solving, drive root cause analysis, and recovery plans to meet customer requirements.

• Continuously evaluate the business case and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Develop and grow the PMP brand beyond its current footprint through highly effective print and electronic marketing, channel/partner strategies, etc.

• Work with PMP Executive and Plant Management teams to align new pursuits and internal development with customer requirements and product line growth objectives.

• Lead the team responsible for overseeing schedule attainment and technical performance of programs to meet customer requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflow efficiency.

• Implement best practices in project planning, execution, and evaluation.

• Oversee customer-specific quotes (in conjunction with estimating), validate requirements, interpret specifications, and obtain material/process costs to provide profitable, yet competitive quote submissions.

• Support Plant Management with product output to customer specifications.

• Attend and/or hold regular status meetings (formal or non-formal) with individuals key to program success and effectively communicate relevant information to internal/external customers.

• Continuously mentor and develop team members through successful goals/objective deployment and feedback.

• Establish a robust succession plan for key roles including yours.

• Assist, mentor, and train other team members and departments as necessary or required.

• Maintain open communication and work with other departments as required to ensure timely and accurate production, quality, and delivery of product.

• Responsible for adhering to the Company Quality Policy and understanding and following all applicable Quality Work Instructions, Policies, and Procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business Mgmt., Marketing, Communications, etc.) or 10+ years’ experience in Sales, Business Development, Program Management and/or Marketing in the Aerospace or Defense industry, preferably with Manufacturing company experience. Or a combination of education and experience.

• Prior leadership position strongly desired but experience in a very strong supporting role in a larger company is acceptable.

• Strong Technical understanding of machining and manufacturing a plus.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. Tight-knit collaborator and skilled relationship builder with high emotional intelligence. Stage presence.

• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering measurable results.

• Proactive in improving the efficiency of working practices, with experience in leading change.

• Must be U.S. person within the meaning of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) with ability to present acceptable, original documents to prove identity and authorization to work.

• Willing to travel 25-50%.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Working conditions are normal for both the office and manufacturing environment.

• This job operates in a professional office environment but will also require you to spend time on the Production Floor as well as travel to customer sites. The noise level on the Production Floor can be loud.

• The physical demands:

• The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.

• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Spending time sitting and using standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

• When required, some projects are out-of-area and/or overnight travel.

• A license and clean MVR are required.

• Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment including, but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and gloves. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Long hair is required to be tied back.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $150,000 to $210,000 DOE
