Job Description
HarmonyTech is currently seeking a Senior ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) developer to support and handle data management work. The candidate should have strong SAS Coding, SQL Server knowledge, Scripting (Python, Bash, SAS, and Perl) experience, and the technical skillset required to perform ETL for multiple products.
The position is available in Fairfax, VA and requires US citizenship.
Responsibilities
Refresh Data Products using Metadata Processing Engine or manual steps
Upgrade/improve, refresh process to automate manual data refreshes
Update existing scripts such as SAS, SQL, bash, Power shell, Python, Perl
Maintain technical documentation
Implement and ensure the Quality Assurance process
Required
Bachelor’s’ degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
Five (5) years of experience writing complex SQL including stored procedures to perform ETL
Five (5) years of experience developing SAS code to perform ETL
Five (5) years of experience developing and maintaining Linux shell scripting
Three (3) years of experience using Python to perform ETL functions
Three (3) years of experience using Perl to perform ETL functions
Hands-on experience in SAS coding, including troubleshooting and fixing any job failures
Expertise in writing Linux scripts using PUTTY to Stage, Move, Copy, Delete files
Expertise in debugging Linux script or Job's failures
Good knowledge of Tableau Reporting
Good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
Must be an effective verbal and written communicator, able to work with both technical and business users
Must demonstrate a sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently and proactively in achieving team and individual objectives. A self-learner who can understand process\code with the least documentation
Must be able to understand the business uses of data and develop designs and specifications to meet those requirements
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Desired
Two (2) years of experience working with applications using Amazon Redshift (or other Postgres- based databases)
Two (2) years of experience working with applications using AWS Glue (or similar)
Two (2) years of experience working with applications using Amazon S3 (or similar)
Federal Government consulting experience, Active Public Trust
Strong analytical skills
Related certifications
