Cutback Operator

One position for an hourly Cutback Operator within TJI B Crew is now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. This role will be responsible for removing bad wood from the I-joist and salvaging as much usable wood as possible.

The hourly wage for this role is $21.22.

Key Functions:

Refer to the run sheet to determine lengths of I-joists and what portion of the I-joist needs to be cut and salvaged.

Operate a traveling saw to make precise cuts at the appropriate spot.

Use a hand bander to band entire bundles of random length pieces.

Alert the Crane Operator to move bundles to the bundle cut line.

Create tags, ensuring correct dimensions, and place on top of the bundle for the Bundle Cut Operator.

Operate forklift to empty dumpsters at the hogger approximately 3 times daily.

Perform cleanup activities.

Occasionally relieve the Nester Operator each day.

Other duties as assigned.

Completion of 90-days probation after hire;

A current resume detailing education and work history is required for consideration;

Ability to meet objectives while working un-supervised;

Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
