About Medhavi Skills University: Medhavi Skills University (MSU) is a government notified and UGC, DGT & NSDC recognised Skills University of North East India, which has been established with the passage of the Medhavi Skills University Act 2021 by the Sikkim State Government. MSU is promoted by a group of IIT / IIM Alumni with a vision to bring convergence of the skilling ecosystem with the higher education tracks by promoting in-demand Skill Integrated Higher Education linked to Employability and career progression. MSU is the first of its kind pioneering university model where corporates/ industries are the stakeholders and influencers in curriculum design, programme delivery and for providing practical skills training via on-the-job training opportunities.

Overview of the Role:

As a new Skills University aligned to the provisions of the new National Education Policy, 2020, we are looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals designated to be the chief administrative officer responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the University within the policies, directions and plans of the university as a whole.

The individual will be responsible for managing the administrative operations of the university, including facilities, contracts and grants, budgetary and financial management, academic personnel, student affairs and human resources.

Desired Candidate Profile:

· Master's Degree in any field from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university

· Ph.D. holders shall be given preference

· Minimum 10+ years of experience in Academics/ Academic Administration at senior level positions in educational institutions in the country and abroad

· Project management experience and/ or training, along with strong organizational and process design skills

· Supervisory experience and strong understanding and competence in human resource administration

· Demonstrated ability to take on complex issues and provide creative solutions

Responsibilities:

· Offer administrative counsel and guidance to the university leadership, department chairs, directors and academic department managers on a routine basis

· Play a key role in long-term planning, priorities setting and resource allocation

· Provide administrative leadership and oversight for the non-academic administration of the university and its departments including budget and finance, human resources and departmental staffing, facilities planning and management, student affairs, and information technology and reporting

· In collaboration with department chairs, the Dean shall establish expectations and provide oversight and direction for the work of the academic department managers

· Should evidence an effective, flexible, and well-disciplined approach to leading and managing the administration of the university

· Perform with the highest levels of integrity, transparency and excellence and model those expectations for the others

· Demonstrate an earnest commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility initiatives by actively contributing to efforts to foster an academic workplace climate that is welcoming, supportive and creates a sense of belonging for all

Key Competencies:

· Intellectually curious and engaged, and provide thoughtful, energetic administrative leadership

· Ability to lead and manage a team with various types of expertise

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to influence/ persuade all levels of staff

· Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience, as well as, tact, discretion and the ability to multi-task

· Possess a keen interest in, and enthusiasm for, the overall workings and philosophy of higher education

Compensation:

Annual Gross from 6 - 9 Lacs per annum. Incentives and bonuses are separate.
