Department OverviewThe Pre-Sales Technical Architect role will form part of the International Presales & Strategy team to design and deliver complex mission critical voice and data systems in the Unified Communications space. The Pre-Sales Technical Architect will work in the pre sales phases of projects and may support multiple projects in parallel. There may also be a requirement to provide support to post sale activities or Centre of Excellence team.

The position is to work independently and in partnership with the Unified Communications sales, engineering, product management, proposals, pricing, and system implementation teams to provide technical responses for budgetary, sole source and competitive bid responses within a highly defined time period. The position acts as the owner of the technical solution for a customer design. The position requires the ability to analyze a customer’s existing system and design complex solutions that meet the customers needs.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Pre-Sales Technical Architect include, but are not limited to:

● Direct engagement with the customer and be responsible for understanding all aspects of the customer’s technical and operational requirements including application interfaces, coverage design, network requirements, and security.

● Be able to architect a complete end-to-end solution addressing all aspects of the customer’s technical and operational requirements. The architecture solution includes all required functionalities of the sub-system, end user devices, software applications, security sub-systems and network sub-systems.

● To sift through all customer engagement and be able to quickly identify key requirement concerns which will have a great impact on the solution design.

● Engage and address customer’s technical concerns and requirements comprehensively (hardware, software, interface and security) at both architectural levels as well as down to sub-system component levels.

● Liaise with our Product Development team by presenting the architectural and functional needs of the required solution and to secure product/solution commitments meeting customer’s delivery and implementation schedule.

● Provide technical leadership to and work with the engineering team for areas concerning system capacity sizing, coverage analysis, traffic profiling ensuring most effective design to address customer’s technical and operational requirements.

● Support RFP/proposal generation, develop Bill of Material, selection of 3rd party vendor solutions, SOW (Scope Of Work) write-up, trials, demo’es, tradeshows etc.

● Be a trusted advisor to regional customers and the internal sales teams.

Basic Requirements

Educational Background:

Graduate engineer from an accredited college or university. Degree, H.N.C, or equivalent in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience:

5 years related experience in Sales / Pre-Sales environment.

Strong background in the design/deployment of systems solutions within the mobile communications industry.

In-depth understanding of Public Safety applications and solutions

Experience of complex project integration including interface definition

Good communication skills and confidence to present solutions to potential customers Technical knowledge

Good understanding of wireless technologies such as LTE

Good understanding of leading industry OSS/BSS applications including CRM, customer portals, service catalogues and order management, service provisioning, billing and payment, network fault management and performance management, data warehouses and business intelligence tools The following skills are considered highly desirable:

Knowledge of relevant standards e.g: 3GPP, LMR

Good understanding of MVNO business processes including subscription and device Provisioning; billing and customer support

Knowledge of Mobile Device Management platforms and services
