The School: The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat, Oman serving the local Omani community, as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds, on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage.

The school is authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the quality of its provision has been recognized with accreditation from the Council for International Schools (CIS).

Position Overview:We are seeking passionate and experienced Primary Years Programme (PYP) Homeroom Teachers to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidates will have an understanding of the PYP curriculum framework, pedagogy, and assessment practices. They should be committed to fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons aligned with the PYP curriculum framework.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn.

Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a safe and productive learning environment.

Foster inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs of students.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary units of inquiry that integrate various subject areas.

Assess student progress regularly using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievement and progress according to school policies and procedures.

Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.

Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay informed about current trends and developments in education, particularly within the IB-PYP framework.

Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and school events.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field. Master's degree preferred.

Teaching certification/license.

Previous experience teaching within the Primary Years Programme (PYP) or similar inquiry-based educational framework.

Strong knowledge and understanding of the PYP curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.

Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
