Three positions for an hourly Billet Tender within the Press Departments are now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. Two positions are open in Press A, and one position is open in Press D. The role will be responsible for grading MVL as it exits the rear of the press, checking the product for defects, and removing any defects.

The wage for this position is $21.22/hour.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Refer to the run sheet to determine lengths of billets to be cut.

Cut billets at proper lengths by setting a program length, entering data onto the touch screen so billet is automatically cut once it exits the press.

Set up computer each shift to record defects, number, and footage of billets created.

Clean up during shift, picking up rejects less than 8 ft long and placing into dumpster. Rejects in excess of 8 ft are sent for pickup by forklift.

Blow out dust from beneath the press, sweep up, and place into dumpster.

Use a skill saw to cut out defective parts of the billet and cut into sections.

Write length and thickness on the end of billets.

Communicate with other Billet Tenders, Crane Operators, and Press Operators.

Other duties as assigned.

Completion of 90-days probation after hire;

A current resume detailing education and work history is required for consideration;

Ability to meet objectives while working un-supervised;

Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
