ABOUT SCHOOLHOUSE KITCHEN + STUDIO

Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio has been operating for over 7 years in the River Forest area. We love to share the joy of cooking with kids and their families as they develop skills, confidence, and independence in the kitchen! Our goal is for every class to feel like instructors have invited kids into their home kitchens. The atmosphere is relaxed, light-hearted, and cozy while the recipes are challenging and delicious. The perfect blend of comfort and challenge!

Our Portage Park location opened February 2023 and this beautiful big open space is the perfect home for our second Schoolhouse. We offer all of the fun programming for kids along with Family Cooking Parties and Adult Classes + Parties. 4410 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Our Wicker Park location opened in June 2023 kicking off with Homesteading Camps! We host camps, kids’ classes, parties and family cooking events at this location. 2337 W. North Ave.

Patrons from our original location in River Forest eagerly await the opening of our Oak Park kitchen in Summer 2024. This will be the home of birthday parties and special events, family cooking classes, and camps.

Our Mobile Kitchen expanded to 9 schools in September 2023, extending engaging cooking experiences to hundreds of children across Chicagoland each week!

ABOUT MOBILE KITCHEN PROGRAMMING

We provide instructors with a kit of mobile cooking equipment, training, and recipes. Instructors gather a few fresh ingredients, set up the mobile kitchen, and carry out 60-90 minute classes with kids at their school. We teach children how to carry out fun and engaging recipes from start to finish: from rinsing produce to cleaning up tables. We aim for children to have confidence and creativity in the kitchen and to connect with loved ones through good food.
