Associate Immigration Attorney

Job Description

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Associate Attorney to join our immigration law firm in Greenbelt, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law and be passionate about assisting clients with their immigration needs.

Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of various immigration matters, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, asylum, deportation defense, and more.

Conduct consultations with clients to assess their immigration needs and provide legal advice and strategies.

Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation accurately and efficiently.

Represent clients before government agencies, such as USCIS, EOIR, and DOS, as well as in immigration court proceedings.

Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies and ensure compliance with current regulations.

Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and appeals.

Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely and effective client service.

Maintain organized case files and documentation using our case management system.

Participate in firm initiatives, such as client seminars, community outreach programs, and continuing legal education.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Admission to a State Bar and in good standing.

2+ years of experience practicing immigration law, with a focus on removal defense, family-based immigration, and/or employment-based immigration preferred.

Strong understanding of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Fluency in additional languages (especially French) is a plus, given our diverse client base.
