Sanitation Worker

Job Description

Position Summary

A Sanitation worker is a cleaning crew member whose duties are to clean and sanitize the food beverage plant to meet Quality Control and Bacterial Standards imposed by Suja Life customers and applicable governmental agencies, such as the FDA.

Schedule:

1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM

2nd Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM

3rd Shift: 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize the plant quickly and efficiently

Workaround large processing equipment in which chemicals will complete the sanitation process.

Must be able to work as a team along with other members of the crew

Assist in transporting heavy equipment with forklifts, pallet jacks, carts or other devices

Maintain and store records as needed

Hand sweep or shovel debris and rubbish

Gather and empty trash containers as requested

Perform heavy manual labor such as scrubbing, brushing, water rinsing, using foamers, etc.

Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines when in the plant.

Regular and reliable attendance.

Working and Environmental Conditions

Working in a warehouse, cold environment with temperatures below 40 ree;F. Work areas may be loud and confined spaces. Will require continuous exposure to noisy environments >85 dBa. Adherence to safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed shoes. Ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand, bend, and climb. Occasional exposure to moving machinery. Be able to frequently lift/move hoses, equipment, and chemical containers weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders as needed. Physical agility to navigate manufacturing equipment and facilities, including repetitive bending, twisting, squatting, and stooping. Ability to work at heights.
