NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components used in the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. NWI Precision’s 120,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto. Our dedicated team prides themselves on delivering the highest quality products, to specifications and on time. NWI Precision is currently seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager.

As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, reporting to the Vice President & CFO, your primary focus will be to enhance and develop new supplier relationships, support new business development opportunities and implement cost containment strategies. You will be responsible for refining our sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the sourcing, development and continuous improvement of supplier relationships, focusing on both performance enhancement, on time deliveries and cost efficiency.

Strategize and implement cost containment measures across the supply chain without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.

Spearhead initiatives to assess and optimize current suppliers' capabilities, seeking opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.

Manage the strategic sourcing of machinery, tooling, production supplies, and transportation services.

Conduct regular supplier evaluations and drive performance improvements through collaborative development programs.

Identify, negotiate, and manage secondary supply sources to mitigate risks associated with single-source dependencies.

Assist the RFQ process for various procurement needs, ensuring competitive bidding and optimal cost-quality balance.

Engage in contract negotiations and business development opportunities focusing on long-term value creation, cost savings, and sustainability. Identify long term outsourcing partners and vendors to meet requirements of new product introduction opportunities during the bidding processes.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supply chain strategies with company goals and manufacturing requirements.

Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

At least 7 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on supplier sourcing, development and cost containment.

Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost reduction initiatives.

Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex contracts.

Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices in supply chain management.

Demonstrated experience in aerospace, automotive or other tier one manufacturing organization with a focus on specialty processes, metals and consumable materials – preferred.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Proficient in supply chain software and tools.
