Logistics Lead

JOB SUMMARY

As a Logistics Lead, He/she will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations within the organization. This role involves coordinating the movement of goods, optimizing transportation and distribution processes, and ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of products. The Logistics Lead will collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to streamline operations and enhance overall supply chain performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Vendor Negotiation

• Conducting vendor assessment and share it with the section manager.

• Discuss with vendor and get NDA signed.

• floating enquiries to forwarders/ transporters/ CHA and getting the quotations.

• Conduct 2nd level negotiation to finalize the forwarder.

• Finalize the service provider as per DoA (Delegation of Authority)

• Finalize the contract terms and signing of agreement.

• Ensure the achievement of cost reduction targets as per OKR through Vendor Negotiation, Alternate Vendor Development, Import Packing Improvement, Delivery term negotiation and Optimizing the Mode of Shipment.

2. Managing Lead Time

• Arranging on time inbound shipment pickup as per schedule.

• Coordination with forwarder for advance flight bookings an vessel schedule.

• coordination with supplier for on time shipment pickup.

• tracking of inbound shipments.

• sharing of pre - alert documents with CHA

• submission of required documents to customs through CHA for smooth customs clearance for both inbound and outbound shipments.

• coordination with CHA for on timely clearance of inbound shipments.

• updation of inbound shipment tracker

• timely arrangement of outbound shipment pickups and delivery.

• coordination with freight forwarder for outbound shipment pickup, custom clearance and delivery.

• tracking of outbound shipments delivery and share delivery update report to PMO and PPC.

• arranging NPI shipments pickup and delivery as per customer requirements.

• arranging vehicles for local goods movement.

3. Trade Compliance (Documentation)

• Ensure the on-time submission of post import and export documents for IDPMS and EDPMS compliance.

• Ensure the proper maintenance of import and export compliance documents.

• Ensure that no penalties from custom due to late submission of documents.

• Ensure that no demand notice/ show cause notice from customs due to any non-compliance.

• Ensure the on-time execution of triple duty bond with customs for clearing of import shipments under duty free.

• Ensure proper maintenance MOOWR compliance report.

4. Service provider payment process

• Ensure necessary approval/service agreement/Contract with all Service providers.

• Verification of service provider bills as per rate contract/ Service agreement.

• Maintaining Service provider Bills submission Tracker

• Ontime submission of Service provider bills to Finance for payment process.

• Follow up with finance team for timely payments to suppliers.

5. Daily Work Management

• Following the assigned task regularly and updating the DWM tracker

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor of Commerce / BE (Mandatory), PGDM/MBA in International Trade (Preferred)

Experience & Skill:

• Good knowledge in Inbound and Outbound Logistics.

• At least 15 years of experience in logistics is required.

• Working experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services/ OEM is preferred

• Good Knowledge of international logistics, custom clearance process - import and export shipments.

• Strong negotiation & interpersonal skills

• Expertise in maintaining day-to-day relationship with Vendors, Customers, Transporters, Shipping Lines & Freight Forwarders from placement of order till delivery of shipment as to ensure achievement of service & quality norms for smooth flow & supply of required items.

• Good Knowledge in Customs clearance and Trade Compliance (MOOWR)

• Cost Estimation, Budgeting & Optimisation of Logistics cost

• Knowledge of Logistics, Supply Chain & DG cargo handling Training – Preferred
