Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate safe operation of a Mobility Assistance Vehicle (Wheelchair Van) in compliance with all traffic laws
Safely load, secure, and unload wheelchair-bound patients utilizing all safety equipment 100% of the time
Assist patients as necessary and when appropriate
Maintain and care for assigned equipment
Communicate with Dispatchers and give frequent status updates
Ensure that appropriate patient medical documents accompany all transports
Complete all trip sheets and turn-in to dispatch at the end of your shift
Decontaminate, when needed, the vehicle interior
Must be capable of communicating in English.
Perform all procedures in accordance with Mobility Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAVT) certification and company policies.
Knowledge & Skills:
The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, lift and/or move people on wheelchairs up/down slight inclines, balance, stoop, and use all fine motor skills. The ability to drive long distances without stopping (except during a life-threatening emergency) is required.
The employee is exposed to various weather conditions and may have to walk or drive during those conditions.
Education/Licensing/Certification:
MUST POSSESS A CURRENT NEW JERSEY MOBILITY ASSISTANCE VEHICLE TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION (
CPR certification
Current, non-restricted, New Jersey driver's license
High School diploma or GED required
Experience:
Three (3) years of driving experience
One (1) year of MAVT experience
