Procurement Analyst - Capital Projects

Reports directly to the Capital Expenditures (CapEx) Category Lead in a centre-led procurement organization. This role is responsible for leading and supporting in the CapEx categories of equipment and services in oilseed processing, specialty plant-based oils, fats, and protein.

Bunge’s products are also used in the application of animal feed, cooking oils, flours, bakery, dairy fat alternatives and much more. Bunge’s global network of facilities spans six continents and includes grain elevators, oilseed processing plants and strategically located port terminals.

The suitable candidate expects to drive cost savings, applies strategic sourcing and best in class practices, focuses on working capital delivery across industrial portfolio utilizing continuous improvement and value generation methods.

The role requires partnering with stakeholders and regional procurement buyers, develops strong analytical and data driven programs to translate business requirements into procurement strategies aligned with One Bunge value.

General Responsibilities

Responsible for planning, strategy and category management for global capital spend. Utilizes e-Sourcing optimization tools to fully leverage the Strategic Sourcing methodology and industry best practices. Drives contract execution to meet project timelines and mitigates business risk. Establishes capable and efficient supply chains to utilize robust technology and long-term service plans. Manages and achieves total cost of ownership (TCO), provides cost side clarity and mitigates risk for equipment and services procurement not limited to warranty or extended warranty period. Understands and implements regional and cultural sensitivities that maximizes outcomes by effective people partnering within Bunge. Understands Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), IRR, working capital, operating expenses, cash flow impact etc.

Key Sourcing Responsibilities

CapEx Procurement Strategy development

Responsible to compose and communicate project charters, develop relevant KPIs and track progress against established plans

Responsible for planning, strategy and category management for global capital spend

Expertise in strategic sourcing methodology applied to capital goods and services.

Responsible for conducting internal spend analyses and external market benchmarking for the capital expenditure and manufacturing supplier categories.

Business Acumen Imperatives

Develops scope and procurement approach for each work package

Interprets - drawings, standards, specifications, acceptance tests

Eliminates single source relationships, creates a competitive environment, and signs contracts (instead of just PO's)

Qualify vendors (current, prospective)

Stakeholder alignment and support in negotiations

Drives strategy communication and alignment with global and local cross functional teams and key stakeholders

Prepares negotiation strategy for Capital goods and services procurement with TCO mindset

Leads and prepares sourcing strategies to co-lead global negotiations and meet project schedules.

Purchase and Master Supplier Agreements

Prepares contracts with due diligence, liaise with legal to favorable terms and mitigate business risk. Drives contract compliance per Bunge procurement policy.

Works closely with regional, country procurement and business services to ensure local acceptance of new contracts.

Creates immediate and long-term value through favorable contract execution and meeting project objectives.

Supplier and Risk Management of Suppliers

For each Sourcing group, understands supply market, both current and prospectively.

Understands and interprets macroeconomic drivers and network demand that impact commodity pricing of steel, labor, fabrication, freight, piping, valves,

Continuously tracks supplier performance during and post Order fulfillment.

Leads supplier development activities, sets-up cross functional review meetings with suppliers in order to improve performance and value creation

Proactively identifies supply continuity risks and develops mitigation plans.

Functional/ Business and Communication skills

Supports category strategies through benchmarking, market trends, supply/demand dynamics and cost analysis to make sound business decisions based on economic logic

Understands and utilizes economic, financial, and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, identifying key issues, and developing strategies and plans.

Internal Stakeholder Management and Effective Change Management in a multi – site manufacturing environment

Communicates and makes recommendation on the chosen vendor panel and the finalist choice.

Communications proactively all updates and expected changes – contract highlights, training details, payment and delivery milestones.

Effective Communication skill to influence others, Fluency in English - other languages is a plus

Qualification / Experiences

Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Industrial) or equivalent by experience. Added Business education is preferred.

Worked in global business organizations with minimum 3 years work experience in procurement strategy, operations, continuous improvement programs in food, feed or fuel manufacturing environments.

Experience in leading CapEx categories and deriving value creation across global projects.

Experienced with Tableau, Excel, Power BI, SAP, Coupa, Beroe to drive smart business analytics

Preferred Industry Experience- Food, FMCG, Pharma, oil & gas, in engineering & procurement organisations.
