Monday through Friday

Purpose Statement:

The Wellness Educator is responsible for working directly with participants by teaching life skills and supporting participants in their acquisition and use of these skills in the areas of nutrition and fitness. Educators play an integral part in the process of developing participant goals, individual service plans, and promoting a culture of wellness across the program.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate in the design and implementation of goal-driven support plans for participants in the areas of physical health and nutrition.

Skill assessment and creation of individualized accommodations for participant skill acquisition.

Record participant information and evaluation as required.

Build positive relationship with participants to provide motivation centered on trust and person-centered practices.

Maintain effective and professional communication with individuals inside and outside MICC.

Maintain confidentiality and promote respect for all MICC students, graduates, staff, families and others.

May be required to sub in the College Program and other instructional areas at MICC as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Health Coaching, Psychology, or a related field is required.

At least one year of working with neurodivergent adults is preferred.

Nontraditional instruction, teaching or education is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Periods of sitting and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Ability to drive small vehicles and 15-passenger vans.
