Job Title: Researcher/Coordinator II

Job Summary:

Join our team in providing essential support to various committees and working groups within the Test Bed Proving Ground Coordination Committee (TBPGCC), Mature Technology Working Group (MTWG), and Quality Observation Systems Assessment Program (QOSAP) at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This position requires strong organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Working wiith NOAA offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and initiatives aimed at understanding and protecting the Earth's oceans, atmosphere, and climate.

Responsibilities Include:

Coordinating email inquiries and drafting initial responses to stakeholder requests for information and analysis

Developing internal and external web content, strategic plan documentation, and schedules/timelines for drafting and finalizing strategic plans

Drafting briefing materials and educational materials specific to committee and working group activities

Providing input to stakeholder requests for information and analysis related to policy development, strategy, status, and assessment in NOAA R&D and transition strategy activities

Designing, implementing, and managing mechanisms for collecting, tracking, and assessing information related to NOAA R&D and transition strategy activities

Creating, editing, and assessing quality of information resources such as online tools, educational products, and templates

Assisting with general administrative tasks focused on committee and working group support, including correspondence review, monitoring proposals, and conducting research

Developing briefing packages in advance of meetings, workshops, and other events, including subject matter research as needed

Providing logistics and coordination services for national and/or regional meetings, including materials development, participant invitation and tracking, meeting space coordination, note-taking, and after-action reports

Assisting in project coordination and the development of transition plans

Offering content assistance for NOAA projects to enhance web presence and outreach efforts, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) activities

Supporting and assisting with provision of transition support services, including creating templates, tools, briefings, and training content

Developing test and evaluation plans for research projects and maintaining project entries in databases and tracking systems

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as scientific communications, meteorology, or environmental science

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise materials

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with web content management systems

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

Desired:

Experience with DEI initiatives and outreach efforts

Knowledge of NOAA programs and research activities

Prior experience in administrative support, project coordination, or similar roles

Work Setting and Environment:

Monday - Friday, normal working hours

Work is to be performed remotely
