Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects including project planning, logistics plans, project schedules, budget estimating, resource allocation, proposal generation, job costing, and order entry. This role is responsible for supporting the business development team by being the secondary contact while providing continual updates as necessary to the client on project requirements and project status. The Project Manager is expected to provide a professional, well-coordinated project implementation that meets or exceeds the client’s expectations.
Essential Functions:
Accompanies Business Development Representative on client interview to develop scope of work
Supervises and reviews the design of projects; directs the preparation and/or review of plans and specifications
Prepares cost estimates for products, freight and labor
Reviews order entry process, manages project costs and overall profitability
Coordinate and executes the installation phase of the project management process
Secondary contact for customer and all third-party firms for all project communications
Engages in sales opportunities with our business development personal
Space planning/design work as needed
Position Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in interior architecture or interior design from an accredited institution is preferred.
Previous design experience preferred.
Must have at least (3+) years in the construction and/or contract furniture industry. Knowledge of contract furniture products and manufacturing preferred.
Strong product and technical knowledge, including applicable building codes, correct product application, custom product applications and pricing, price estimating, electricity and cabling, etc.
Must be highly motivated, personable, self-starter who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully, many with tight deadlines
Superior oral and written communication skills in addition to strong editing and proofreading skills
Must be able to think strategically, analytically and creatively
Requires knowledge of financial principles. Ability to calculate figures such as vendor net & sell discounts. Conducts basic financial analysis
