Description

The Starter is a 8–9 month seasonal position and candidates are expected to work a minimum of 4 days per week with at least one weekend day. Additional hours may be required during tournament weeks. Members of our starter staff must have an adequate knowledge of the game of golf as well as value being part of a strong team-oriented culture. Our Starters are required to maintain a high level of quality appearance standards as you are interacting with all golfing members, as well as their guests.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Professional, Assistant Professionals and Golf Shop Staff with the execution of all member events and golf outings.

Communicate effectively with members and guests.

Greet members and guests as they arrive at the first tee, track and record cart and guest fees, and monitor pace and play on the course.

Be available and visible to members and guests to provide exemplary service.

Assist the Head Professional in enforcing the club's rules and policies for golf including the dress code.

Keep accurate records on the daily tee sheets.

Skills

Strong communication skills, service oriented, attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.

Be well organized and function well under pressure.

Working Conditions

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift items over 10 lbs., work in varying weather conditions, hear and speak clearly.

Start Date

The start date is flexible and depends on the start of the golf season.

Compensation

$12.50-$13.50/hour
