About the Role:
As an Outreach Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of Fabric’s expansion, engaging with communities in DC and Maryland. Spend your days building connections, understanding a family’s needs, and guiding them through essential applications. This is not just a job; it’s a chance to redefine how healthcare support is delivered!
What You’ll be Getting Into:
Building relationships with families in laundromats
Understanding the unique needs of these families and identifying where they need support
Assisting families with public benefits applications like Medicaid, SNAP, and LIHEAP, as well as helping them navigate their health plans
Making referrals to external resources

Qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish and English
In-person laundromat engagement: Willingness to work inside laundromats, creating meaningful connections (don’t worry - you don’t have to do laundry!)
Weekend availability: Consistent availability on weekends, the prime time for laundry!
Reliable transportation: Navigate different locations in DC, Prince George’s County, and Montgomery County
Experience with high-needs populations: Background in supporting vulnerable communities
Tech savvy: Comfort with and desire to learn new technologies
Nice to Haves:
Familiarity with state benefit applications
AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply
Salary and Benefits:
$25 - 28/hr.
Full-time employees receive a PTO plan, generous monthly medical stipend, and equity options.
