Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) is a General Partnership firm of ACS Infrastructure Canada, SNC Lavalin O&M, and Ellis Don. RTM has been awarded a long-term contract to maintain the Confederation Line, the new light rail transit system in Ottawa. RTM currently has an exciting career opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual looking to play a role in the ongoing operation and maintenance of a significant infrastructure project in the nation’s capital.

RTM is now seeking an Electrical Engineer who will report to the Technical Director, Rideau Transit Maintenance.

All RTM positions will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable supply of trains and maintenance services on the Confederation Line. Core Duties and Essential Job Functions:

Be the primary technical resource for systems assets related to rail transit system power supply and distribution, industrial control, and automation systems (SCADA and PLC), stray current management, energy use management, and other.

Be able to converse effectively regarding these systems with both technical and non-technical persons.

Determine the strategies to achieve minimum life cycle cost for the asset. This reveals the need for the electrical engineer to participate in the design and installation phases of new assets and in modification of existing assets. The engineer must perform evaluations of the residual service life and recommend strategies for refurbishing or replacing assets.

Develop and document preventive maintenance programs and maintenance procedures consistent with the requirements of O&M manuals, applicable regulation, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with the requirements of the project agreement.

Support development and optimisation of corrective maintenance practices

Provide technical input to preventive and corrective maintenance strategy discussions.

Provide technical support and investigate asset failures to determine root cause/s and suggest corrective actions.

Provide troubleshooting support to the maintenance and operations teams.

Conduct performance audits of the maintenance programs.

· Develop KPI's to quantify the performance of developed asset reliability programs.

Provide technical oversight of in-house resources and contractors tasked with the maintenance of electrical systems.

Willing to occasionally work off-hours work to investigate technical issues and/or support maintenance teams in the field.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution

Licensed P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario

Good understand of maintenance management systems (SAP, Maximo, Agility, etc.)

Minimum of 5 years experience with electrical supply/distribution systems with preference given to experience on a rail transit project, in at least one of design, test and commissioning, operations, maintenance

Some experience with OT networks and communication systems would be an asset.

Experience managing projects through their full lifecycle.

Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.

Working knowledge of relevant electrical regulations, and relevant sections of the Ontario Building Code

Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to manage, manipulate, and present data using Excel.

Proficient MS Office

Strong technical and procedural writing skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
