The Position:
The Business Intelligence Analyst is a skilled analytical professional who has significant hands-on experience with analysis and reporting as they relate to the sales and marketing productivity in a large organization. As an Analyst, they will be responsible to create and develop metrics, see opportunities in the business and help shape the vision for reporting and analysis at OSL in support of client Samsung, Canada.
Contract: 12 months
What you’re responsible for:
Responsible for creating and managing Power BI tools and has a thorough understanding of the BI system
Primary responsibility is to transform raw data into relevant insights via interactive and simple-to-understand dashboards and reports
Use Power BI to run DAX queries and functions. Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts
Assimilate data from multi-dimensional databases to build weekly intelligence reports
Support the team with mining data, producing reports, dashboards and maintaining CMS
Assist in identifying opportunities in the business and works to produce impactful analysis
Examine reporting relationships to increase end-user productivity, availability and accuracy
Assist with the compilation and distribution of key financial and management reports
Liaise with internal and external clients on reporting needs to find effective solutions
Assist with new project opportunities to identify reporting and data system requirements
Utilize machine learning techniques and statistical analysis to identify opportunities
To be successful:
Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst, writing Executive Level business intelligence reports
Technical expertise regarding data models, dashboard design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases (SQL, Power BI, MS Access etc) programming (Python, R, PHP, VBA and Java Script etc.)
Knowledge of statistics and techniques using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (ANOVA, f/t-Test, Pivot Tables, Power Query etc)
Knowledge of SaaS applications, SharePoint, MS Teams, CMS
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing, data visualization and presenting findings using MS PowerPoint
BS in Economics, Computer Information Management, Statistics or IIBA Certified, Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or related, an asset
To join our team:
Minimum five (5) years proven working experience in a reporting and analytics function
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as business administration
Must possess the ability to proactively build strong relationships within a diverse organization
Must possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple on-going priorities
Superior organizational and planning skills are required
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English
