The Great Lakes Harbor Light System was established in 1939 and is one of the State's largest drug rehabilitation systems, and the first treatment program in Michigan to be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations in 1975.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct individual, group, and educational counseling sessions
Maintain case records in accordance with Harbor Light standards
Follows up to determine reliability and validity of individual client treatment plan established; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery
Maintain contact with referral sources, (i.e., gatekeeper, parole/probation agents) submitting requests for authorization for treatment as well as required reports
Complete discharge documentation on each client to include aftercare plan, referral and letters to referring agencies
Participates in the review of all clinical issues, activities and program policies and procedures
Distribute/collect treatment satisfaction surveys at beginning of treatment, mid treatment and at discharge
Attends all clinical staff meetings, and team conferences
Participates in educational courses, seminars, workshops, current literature and in-service meetings to enhance treatment skillsQualifications:
Minimum two (2) years of experience working with substance abuse populations
TB Test and police clearance required
Authorization to work within The United StatesEducation/Experience:
Must possess a Masters degree in Behavioral Science (Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology)
Computer Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and email system
Experience using Electronic Medical Records system preferredReasoning Ability:
Understand and work within The Salvation Army and Harbor Light Mission Statements
Possess an excellent working knowledge of The Harbor Light Policies and Procedures
Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess approved MCBAP certification (CADC, CAADC, etc), approved Development Plan, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
Must possess State of Michigan license (LLMSW, LMSW, LPC, LLPC)
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 10 pounds
Frequent sitting for long periods of time
Capability to visually inspect packages, equipment and fixtures, as well as observe people and events
Ability to hear and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Capability to use standard office machines like copiers and fax machinesWork Environment:
Office setting In addition: Must be highly organized, motivated, a self starter with the ability to multi-task, be creative.
